I’m working on a communications discussion question and need support to help me learn.

What is the purpose of my education? Why read Becoming a Learner?

The best predictor of success is past performance. Provide a detailed example of when you worked hard to achieve a goal that was important to you.  What did you do? Did anyone else help? How did you feel? What did you learn from this success?

• We can learn from both of our successes and mistakes. Provide a detailed example of when you learned a hard lesson because of something you did “wrong” or a mistake you made (not something bad that happened to you). What did you take away from this experience?  Was the pain worth the lesson?

What is something that stuck out to you about this book?

• Finally, one of the policies in this course is that we do not except late work (we do grant extensions!) and we do not change grades unless there is a mathematical error. How is that policy related to Becoming a Learner? Why do you think we so strictly adhere to this policy?
